A Blog named Hero, Cards, Hero Arts

56242592_10156068469251156_4734648518340247552_nHi all! Its the 15th of the month which means another challenge starts at “A Blog named Hero”, the challenge blog of Hero Arts. The theme this month is “Stretch your Stamps”. This means we would like to see you use your stamps in another way than it was meant to be used.Hydrangea embossedI have to admit I wasn’t very original but I wouldn’t normally use a stamp this way so its different for me! I used Hero Arts Color Layering Hydrangea stamp set, but only the detailed stamp as it also comes with a full coverage stamp for the background of the flower. I stamped them randomly on my card using Hero Arts clear embossing & watermark ink, covered them with clear embossing powder and then heat embossed it.Hydrangea embossed product I then sponged in Hero Arts Grape Slush Reactive inks and sprinkled a little water over my card. The sentiment was stamped on clear acetate using Stazon ink and glued onto my card with ScrapPerfect “Best Glue Ever”, which it truly is, as it dries transparent and is great for acetate!

Well, I hope you liked my card and that you will be inspired to join in our challenge over at A Blog Named Hero. There are 2 prizes of $25 and $50 gift vouchers to Hero Arts to be won! I look forward to seeing your wonderful creations in the link up and you have till the 10th of September to do so.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

New Inks from Spectrum Noir

Cards, Spectrum noir

Hi all! Its been a while I know, but I’m finally finished with my German certification exam (I’ll know my results in September…) so I now have a little more time to craft. In 2 weeks time, when the kids go back to school, I’ll have even more time, in-between my new job, of course, but after having daily german classes, work and my kids at home, just working will seem like a holiday!Blue Crocus inksIn today’s post, I want to share some new inks from Spectrum Noir. They are called Harmony Opaque pigment inks and are amazing fade-free colour inks with a rich, slow-drying consistency, giving you time to manipulate the shades.

What makes these inkpads unique is their “sticky”, slow-drying texture, which will allow you to take your time adding embossing powders to give them a shiny enamel-like finish. These water-based, acid-free and fully archival ink pads are available in 36 colours, ready to co-ordinate and combine.

I ordered just three to test how they were and I now regret I didn’t buy more in the beginning. They glide onto paper really easily and give so much coverage…and they’re so juicy!Blue Crocus productsI made a little video to show you how I made my card, which you can find at the bottom of my post. I used Crafters Companion Crocus Collection layering stamp, which is a beautiful set of 3 stamps, each adding a fabulous dimensional effect to the stamped image. I love this stamp set and will definitely be using it again with my watercolours and alcohol markers.Blue Crocus shiny.jpgHere you can see the shine and enamel look my card has after I heat embossed it with Wow embossing clear powders. My daughter said it had a very “royal” look to it!

As promised, the video of the making of my card. I hope you enjoy it! If you do try the inks, I would love to know what you think of them. I have already put in my second order for more of these inks!

Thanks for dropping by and have a great day!

Mistletoe Coffee

Cards, Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, Zig clean color real brush

You know the rare times (for me at least) that you create something and its exactly the way you saw it in your mind? Well this one layer card is EXACTLY how I pictured it and you can’t imagine how pleased I am with myself!😊 Doesn’t mean that I don’t like everything I do, they often come out differently than what I intended that’s all, sometimes not at all the look I had in mind, but luckily most of the time, they’re still quite nice!😅

I just ordered some stamps from Create A Smile, a German stamp company. I love that there is a German company that makes stamps and dies as good as the Americans as 1) I can buy local and 2) I can save TONS on shipping costs! I got these just for the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop which ends today, so I was relieved when it finally arrived yesterday! I thought it would be funny to have this cute hedgehog offer a cup of coffee under the mistletoe, cause let’s be honest, sometimes you just need a good steaming cup of coffee before a kiss!

Create a smile coffee

The hedgehog actually comes from their “Doctor’s Helpers” set which features “get well” stamps and I know I will be using these stamps often as Germans stay home a week, under doctor’s orders, when they are sick, even if its just a cold!! They are obsessed really careful about not wanting to pass on germs. In France, unless they have a fever, you leave your child in school and you go to work even if you are sick. I have to say I much prefer the German way!!

The mistletoe comes from their “Festive Foliage” set which I will definitely be using to create a Christmas wreath soon.  I stamped both stamps with clear Versamark ink and heat embossed with a clear Wow Embossing powder. I then coloured the whole thing with my Zig clean color real brushes as I was too lazy to fill my water jar to use my “real” watercolour paints! The sentiment from Pinka nd main was stamped with Versafine black ink. I sprinkled some white acrylic paint on it and it was done! I tried adding a red ribbon to the top but I much prefer it without it, which do you prefer?

Well, thanks for stopping by and I’m off to hop along at the Coffee lovers blog hop now to see some wonderful creations. If you’ve been stopping here along the hop and left me some comments, I just want to let you know how much I appreciate your kind thoughts.

Have a great creative weekend!
