Watercolours with Zig markers

I have heard so much about these Zig Clean color real brushes from fellow bloggers who do amazing watercolor creations with them, that I was over the moon when I got them for my birthday last month! As I am not a natural painter, I found this video from KWerner design really helpful, and in the end I decided to CASE her card. Her card is much more beautiful and professional looking than mine but I’m quite pleased with my first water colouring attempt with the brushes. I just love them! After my German courses, I think I’ll take a painting class to learn about painting shadows and shades.

I stamped afew flowers from Tim Holtz’s Flower Garden stamp set and heat embossed it with my WoW clear embossing powders (you don’t see it but it sparkles on the card!). I then started using my Zig markers and water brush to paint in the flowers and the greenish watercolour “puddle”. After I finished, I cut my watercolour paper with My Favourite Things scallop rectangle die and adhered it to the blue cardstock which I had folded into a card. I stamped the sentiment from Sweet Dixie Big Sentiments stamp set onto a trip of vellum, added 2 little gems et voila!

I played along with:

The Flower Challenge – A new challenge blog all about flowers! Their first challenge is “Anything Goes”
AAA Cards – Masking, as I masked the flowers
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge – Anything Goes
Addicted to CAS – Watercolor
CAS on Sunday – Heat embossing

This is Kristina’s beautiful card that I cased. Isn’t it gorgeous?
