Creative with Stamps – Clean and Simple & 2nd Anniversary!

Card Challenge, Cards, Creative With Stamps

creative with stamps.jpg

Hi all! Its the 1st of the month so a new challenge has started at Creative with Stamps and this month its our 2nd Anniversary! Its been 2 years since Lilian and Monika started this challenge and to celebrate it, there are 3 prizes from our sponsor Pattie’s Creations to be won, along with a prize donated from Monika herself! So I hope you’ll join in the fun! Just make a Clean and Simple (CAS) card with a sentiment on it and you’ll be in the running to win a prize!

CAS Easter main

As its Easter Sunday, I made an Easter card to wish all of you that celebrate it, a Very Happy Easter…and don’t go overboard with the chocolate! To make this card,  I masked a circle on my Clairefontaine 250g multi-technique paper, added the egg stencil from Echo Park on top of it and sprayed on “Don’t Citron Me” and “Razzeldazzle Berry” highly pigmented water-based sprays from Shimmerz Paints. I love their sprays, they’re so vibrant!

CAS Easter

I wanted to add this cute chick from Gerda Steiner designs, which I coloured with my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers, so I used the die from My Favorite Things and inlaid it in the middle of my Easter eggs and added my chicky on top. To finish I stamped the sentiment which comes from Gerda Steiner too. I then framed this panel with the scallop rectangle diecut from My Favorite Things.

Well its a short post because I’m on vacation in Spain. I just had to escape the cold and snow in Ulm for abit! I do hope you’ll pop over to Creative with Stamps and see what my teammates have made to inspire you to join in the fun.

Have a great day!

The Sisterhood of Crafters – Frames!

Card Challenge, Cards, The Sisterhood of Crafters

Hi all! Hows the beginning of 2018 been for you so far? Its been hectic for me as we are still in the midst of moving houses. I am writing this post sitting on the floor in our empty, except for junk/not junk, former house as we still don’t have internet in our new house due to what I will call a “comedy of errors”, except its not so funny.  Great news is that I got a whole room for my crafting activities, (Woohoo!) and I will post a few pics of the set up below.

I’m here today to tell you about our first challenge of 2018 over at The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge blog where we have a fun challenge as Diane has chosen the theme “Frames”. So I hope to see your creations using any kind of frames on them!

I made a card using a frame from My Favorite Things scallop frame die which I also dotted with a gold pen. The sentiment from Altenew was stamped in Versamark on a black stitched rectangle card using a die by Sue Wilson, then heat embossed with black and gold Wow embossing powder. The die cut wreath was cut from a gold painted cardstock using a Penny Black die. All of the above was adhered onto a piece of vellum which is covering a stencilled brick wall.

I used a textured paste from Shimmerz paints called Dazzlerz ,which does not go on smooth and is kinda gritty like a brick wall, through a stencil from My Favorite Things. As you can see I was rather messy in the stencilling, which is why I added vellum over it in the end!

This card is going out to my mother as her birthday was on the 6th of January, except in the move, her present and card was packed off somewhere, so hopefully I’ll find it in time for her birthday next year! LoL!

As promised, afew pics of my new craft room. I’m not sure what possessed me to paint it pink (salmon actually) as I’m not a pink sort of girl, even my daughter’s bedroom was painted green and yellow when she was born… but I do like it, luckily! All the furniture from Ikea was “reclaimed” from rooms around our former house, yet no one is missing anything! That is a testimony to how well I managed get rid of half our stuff during the move! 😉 I’m not sure about crafting on my daughter’s former “zebra” table though but I have another back up table if needed! I also added a bed in my room, just for late night crafting when I’m too tired to climb the three floors to our bedroom. 😉

I’ll post more pics once I unpack my stuff. I realise that I now have more craft room supplies than clothes! In the meantime, I do hope to see your wonderful creations over at The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge Blog, and while you’re there, do leave my other “sistahs” some love too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Were you Good?

Cards, Clearly Besotted Stamps, Stamplorations

A quick post to share a Christmas card I didn’t have time to share before Christmas. I had my hubby’s family here from Spain over Christmas and as we move to our new house in afew days, I’m lucky to find afew minutes to share this card with you. So forgive me if this post is a little short!

xmas pugs.jpg

I love this pug stamps I recently got from Clearly Besotted and I paired them with a Xmas tree stencil from Stamplorations. I used the wonderfully shiny and smooth paste from Shimmerz Paints for the tree on Canson 250g multi technique paper, which is my go to paper for all my mixed media creations, and my Zig clean colour real brushes to colour the pugs and presents. They were cut with my Brother scan and cut and I adhered them on my card with a little fun foam for dimension.

The background of the card was also watercoloured using my Zigs and the panel was diecut using Stamplorations Crazy Double Running Sticth rectangle dies.

Well I hope you like my card and I’ll still find time to read your comments so I look forward to them as always!

Creative with Stamps – Reminder Reindeer challenge

Cards, Creative With Stamps, Shimmerz Paints, Stamplorations, Stencil

Hi all. I’m back today to remind you about our on-going challenge at Creative with Stamps and the theme is Reindeer. So create any Reindeer themed card, and as long as there is stamping somewhere on it, you’re welcome to link it up here, and you might be the lucky winner of 3 digi stamps generously offered by our sponsor this month, Pattie’s Creations.

Pattie's Creations

For today’s post, I’m still having fun with my new sprays and pastes I purchased from Shimmerz Paints last week, to colour through my different stencils.

Stamplorations Reindeer cu

I first coloured a piece of 250g multi technique paper from Clairfontaine with my Brusho paint powders and spritzes of water. Once it was dry, I spread the incredibly sleek paste called Dazzlerz “Foiled Again”, through the star stencil from Newton’s Nook and let it dry. I didn’t tape the stencil down well enough so a little paste spread underneath the stencil, sorry! I might actually spray some glue on the underside of my stencils and let it dry overnight, so that they stay put all over…

Once the stars were dry, I just spread some Texturez gold paste through my Stamplorations reindeer stencil and created the bumpy effect by lifting my spatula when I was spreading the paste. The thickness of this paste covered whatever was originally there, meaning the stars and painted background!

Stamplorations Reindeer side

To create my scallop border, I diecut a silver card stock with MFT scallop rectangle die and adhered a piece of acetate underneath it. I then stamped my sentiment from Penny Black with Stazon ink onto the acetate… I’m not sure how I got the smaller texts crooked when the main text is straight… I then adhered this acetate panel onto my stencilled panel and pasted the whole thing onto a card base.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this post and I would love to hear what you think about my card! Do hop over to the other DTs at Creative with Stamp and leave them some love too!

New Discovery – Shimmerz Paints!

Cards, embossing paste, Shimmerz Paints, Stamplorations, Stencil

Hi all! You know how I’m always looking for new products or new techniques to make my cards with, well today I’m so excited to share a range of products I just bought from Shimmerz Paints. They are a company that make watercolours, sprays and pastes, and so far I am incredibly happy with the products I’ve used! In fact, I so regret not having ordered more products.

In today’s card, I used the green “Don’t Citron Me” non vibrant spray called Colorinz, through a snowflake stencil from Stamplorations. The colour is really intense and I was quite surprised by that. This card doesn’t show it very well, but I’ll be making a scrapbook page this weekend to show off the vibrancy of all the sprays, so make sure you come back! Todays’ card is more to show off the incredible texture of their paste called Texturez.

Once the spray ink had dried, I used another Stamplorations stencil and added the gold Texturez paste called Mari-Gold Digger through it. To create the “craters” like texture, I just lifted my spatula when I was smoothing on the paste. I just LOVE the effect this paste creates and it really shines too!

I stamped the sentiment from Penny Black with Versafine ink, cut the edges of my panel with craft scissors and adhered it to a green card base.

Well I hope you like my card and I look forward to reading your comments. Do come back soon to see what I created with the other products from Shimmerz.
