Creative with Stamps – Come play with us!

Cards, Creative With Stamps, mothers day card, Zig clean color real brush

Hi all, its the 15th of the month so I’m sending out a friendly reminder that you can share your cards with us at Creative with Stamps, until the end of the month, if you have made a “Mother” themed card.

I was a little enthusiastic about stamping the little flowers from Pink Fresh Studio’s “Unicorn Dream” stamp set. So instead of having whimsical flowers artfully strewn around, it looks a little like a mess of overgrown wildflowers! Lol! Anyway i love this funny stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called “Mother’s Day Zingers” and I’ve used the sentiments from this set in most of my Mother’s Day cards this year, to give to my daughter’s friends. I stamped the black strip from Winnie & Walter on the right cause I realised my whole card was too much to the left…. oh well adds some contrast I guess!

Well I hope you enjoyed this card and that you’ll join us in this challenge. Thanks for your comments, they’re like little hugs to me!

Have a great day!

CFS Sistahs Logo

Its that time if the month again ladies, time to check yourselves! Breast Cancer is not contagious, but you can catch it early… if you check yourself monthly and go for regular check ups. This reminder was started by the amazing Michele at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, after she was diagnosed with Cancer. You can read her story here.

Since then, a bunch of us Sistahs make cards as a fun way to remind you to feel em up! You can see their cards over at the CAS-usual Fridays Calling All Sistahs blog.

Today I made a simple Shaker card using the stamps from the Calling All Sistahs collection, which I heat embossed using Wow silver embossing powder. The sequins came from a limited edition of Pretty Pink Posh. I added Washi Tape as a border and the card was done!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back tomorrow where I’ll be sharing my card for the 3rd Encouragement challenge over at the Calling All Sistahs blog, in the hopes that you’ll join in the fun!

Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop + Prize

Cards, Heat embossing, Interactive cards

Hi, its the 17th of the month again and time for the “Calling All Sistahs” Cancer Awareness Blog hop! Every month on this day, we join this hop to remind you to check yourself or schedule that mammography if you haven’t had one recently. Heres a link that shows you how to  examine yourself. Early detection can save a life as Michele Gross, of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps discovered, after her own discovery of breast cancer. Because of the early detection, she recovered and started this monthly awareness campaign to remind all women to do regular self exams and yearly mammograms.

Oscar cancer card

This month I decided to do an elegant card in black and gold using CASual Friday stamps, as a tribute to all those who have fought or who are fighting the battle of breast cancer. I have not gone through it myself but I imagine it must be hard to hang on to your self esteem when you are losing your hair to chemo or even your breasts to a mastectomy. I just want to say that the courage you have to go through all that and beat cancer, makes you one classy lady and I want to offer this shaker card to one of you. Just leave a comment below  and I’ll pick one of you incredible ladies to send this card to.

I made this shaker card after this card (Majestic Bloom) by Natasha of Znatka2007 who makes amazing interactive cards. I heat embossed everything with Wow embossing powder. The sequins from Pretty Pink Posh are actually only pink and white and are a special edition made for CASual Friday Calling All Sistahs collection. As I can’t add a video on my blog, you can see this card in action on my Instagram account here.

CAS-ual Friday is also giving away 15$ gift vouchers to their store to 3 commenters who comment along the blog hop by 12am EDT on the 19th of March. Here is the full blog hop list. Be sure to go and see what amazing cards the others have made and leave them some love too!

Hot Pink Marbling

Cards, Die cuts, Marbling

Yes… another post on marbling, and its not going to be the last, so bear with me! What can I say, I LOVE the look of marbling. I love that you can use it as a background to create a beautiful scene like my previous post here, or as a flower pattern in a die cut here. Today’s card features a marbling effect created with nail polish and the method can be found here.

I normally don’t put a lot of die cuts on my cards but this card is going to a friend who likes die cut flowers so I did my best. I admire people who manage to layer it on in a fresh, clean and simple way. Today’s card was trying to achieve that effect and personally I am very excited by the result. I know, “excited” seems to be a strange word to describe how I feel when looking at a card. And frankly I rarely get excited when I look at my cards, LOL, although I do get excited when I think about a new design or layout! (Wow thats a lot of use of the word “excited”…) But today, while editing my photos, my heart beat faster every time I looked at my card!

Cause I just LOVE that vibrant marbling effect you can see in the Spellbinder’s die cut flowers and the softer marbling hues in the Stamplorations Cutplorations “Thanks” die cut. I painted the piece of white corrugated cardboard with Ranger’s Picked Raspberry Distress paint and added a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to finish. Oh and that artistic squiggle on the bottom left made with my Zig clean color real brush, was actually to hide a stain I made, but it looks good doesn’t it? 😉

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you got excited looking at it too!

I was inspired to make this card by the following challenges:

Stamplorations CAS – Anything Goes with Hot Pink option stamplorations

CAS Mix Up Card challenge – Corrugated cardboard, stamping and one other. I was so fixated on the challenge of adding “corrugated cardboard” that I forgot about the stamping bit. LoL! I wanted to share it anyway, because the whole layout started from that piece of cardboard. CAS mix up.jpg

Musemuse.jpg  I had this image in my head when adding the marbled sentiment on the pink background to try and blend in the text, and the flowers around.

Calling All Sistahs Cancer Awareness

Cards, Die cuts, Interactive cards, Stencil

I’m honoured to be back in the blog hop to create awareness for early cancer detection. Start 2017 with a resolution to give yourself monthly self breasts examinations, it could save your life! This month, Pretty Pink Posh is collaborating with Casual Friday Stamps and we each got a pocket of pretty pink sequins to make a card, so I obviously had to make a shaker card!

You can get your own packet of these Pretty Pink Posh limited edition sequins, only at the CAS-ual Friday’s store here. As with the other items in this collection, Michele donates 50% of the profits to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, ever since she herself was diagnosed with cancer, and survived, after an early detection!

The die cut ribbon and the stamped text comes from the Calling All Sistahs collection too.

Next on the blog hop is Vicki Dutcher. Remember, 2 random commenters will each win gift certificates to the CAS-ual Fridays store. Comments must be made by 12am EST on January 19th (6h 20th Jan CET) to be eligible. Heres the whole blog list if you got lost!
