Hi everyone! I’m over on the a2z Scrapbooking blog today to remind you to join us in our monthly challenge. This month the theme is “Give Thanks” and you stand a chance to win a $15 give voucher to the a2z Scrapbooking store, and if you use a Hero Arts or Sugartree product, there is a bonus prize!
I used a digital stamp from Sugartree Stamps called “Hug In a Mug”. Don’t forget to use my code Gwendolyn15 to get 15% off your order of $25 and more if you want to get it. Come on over to the a2z Scrapbooking blog if you’re curious to see how I created the background! I look forward to seeing you there.
Hi all! Its the 1st of the month which means the beginning of another challenge over at Creative with Stamps, and the theme this month is “Pumpkin”. So I look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations featuring pumpkins and you have a whole month to create them!
I love pumpkins, something about their full roundedness really appeals to me. They are also a sign that fall is here and I LOVE fall! Who cannot love all those gorgeous orange, gold and red hues. I think my favourite fall memory will always be the one where we were driving through Shirley on the old Route 66, after visiting the Funks Grove Pure maple sirup farm. The stretch of road lined with trees bursting with the colours of Autumn, was just breathtakingly gorgeous, and that scenery will forever be etched in my memory.
So I tried to recreate these colours in my Pumpkin card, which was cerated using 2 different pumpkin digi stamps from Pattie’s Creations and QKR Stampede. I also drew in afew pumpkins to fill in the gaps. Can you tell which ones they are? I used my Winsor and Newton watercolours to paint them and when they were dry, I cut the panel using My Favorite Things scallop rectangle die and matted it on a mauve card base. The beautiful sentiment comes from CASual Fridays.
Well I hope you liked my card and I would love to hear your thoughts on Autumn. Do pop over to the Creative with Stamps challenge blog and see what my team mates have created just to inspire you, and leave them some warm Autumn love too!
Thanks for stopping by, have a great creative month… and maybe make some pumpkin pie (π) too!

Hello all and its already the 1st of July, well into the 2nd half of the year already! Where does the time go by? Its also the beginning of a new challenge at Creative with Stamps and the theme for this month is “Flag”. We have prizes from our sponsor Pattie’s Creations so we hope you will join us and we can admire your amazing creations in the link up!
As you are reading this, I am somewhere in France, on our way to Madrid, where we will be spending all summer to visit my hubby’s family. I brought my Mac, my watercolours, colour pencils & all my Never been used stamps, so that I won’t have a choice but to use them!
Anyhoo, for this post, I created it in advance, using a digital stamp from Pattie’s Creations called “Beach Cabana Trio”. I know being July and the theme being “Flag”, most Americans will create something to celebrate their Independence Day , which did you know was actually voted by Congress on the 2nd of July…. But since I’m not American and I don’t live in America & don’t come from or lived in countries who’s citizens are very patriotic (I think France & Germany only sing their National Anthems during football matches, so quite alot at the moment, although not so much for Germany anymore ;)…) I decided to use a beach flag!
I printed the digi stamp directly onto Clairefontaine 250gm watercolour paper & created a beach scene with my Zig clean color real brushes. I had so much fun giving the Cabanas a badly painted look, even though one small part of me was screaming in protest when I made the paints run down the roofs, LoL! I also wanted them to look old but the Zigs are so vibrant it was quite difficult.
I chose the sentiment from The Ton’s “Wishful Wildflowers” set as I felt there was something poignant but happy at the same time about this scene. How does this card make you feel?
Thanks for stopping by and I do hope you’ll stop over at Creative with Stamps and see what my team mates have created for your inspiration and leave them a little love too. Happy Summer everyone! (& Winter for those down South)
