Happy Little Stampers – Tropical

Cards, Happy Little Stampers, Watercolor

September 2019 WC.pngHi all! How are you doing this wonderful Sunday morning? I’m taking a much needed holiday break in London, after working like crazy all summer, following my 5 year “holiday”! Before I left though, I made a card for our new challenge over at the Happy Little Stampers Watercolour challenge blog where the theme is always Anything Goes. The optional theme this month is Tropical! Either because our challenge creator, Kylie, is from Australia so they’re coming out of Winter or we’re celebrating the last days of heat in the Northern HemisphereCC Wild & Free prodWhichever the case, I was really happy to break open my new stamp from Crafters Companion, called “Wild and Free”, and watercolour up this little parrot. I used watercolour markers from Spectrum Noir, which has a brush nib and a small marker tip nib on the other end, so I could add fine brush strokes to my ferns. This is really useful to add ink into the small corners on your flower stamps or creatures! Really handy for a beginner painter. The background was just done with Brushos watercolour powder and a spritz of water. All this on Spectrum Noir’s watercolour paper. CC Wild & Free cuThe sentiment also comes from the same stamp set and was stamped with Spectrum Noir’s waterproof ink pad, and luckily so, as I didn’t realise my background was still wet when I stamped it and the ink didn’t budge at all!! I fussy cut my water coloured parrot and adhered it to my Brushoed background.

Well I hope I’ve inspired you to join in and I really look forward to seeing your wonderful creations! Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a great Sunday and week doing what you love!

Addicted to stamps

Hi all, I’m back this Wednesday to show you a card I made for our Clean and Simple challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More. I hope to see many of you over at the challenge gallery!

Clean and simple for me usually means no layers and I set out to make a one layer card but my initial card was a mess so I fussy card the image I had planned and adhered it to this card, but I think I still managed to make it “clean”. Obviously, it would have been cleaner if I didn’t add any splatters but I still haven’t got over my craze for them so…

Create a smile Aloha spirit product.jpg

I was inspired to make this card by the monochromatic challenge over at Create A Smile, a German stamp company. I first masked and stamped the tropical flowers from their Aloha Spirit stamp set and heat embossed them with Wow white embossing powder. Emerald Green Brushos paint powder was used to colour it and the background too. The sentiment comes from Imagine Design Create “Black Sentiment “stamp set. So a completely European card!

I hope this has inspired you to join our CAS challenge and please go over to the Addicted to Stamps and More blog and give the other DTs some love too! Thanks for stopping and have a great day!

Addicted to Stamps and More – Anything Goes with Stamplorations

addicted to stamps n more anything goes

Hi all, its Wednesday and I’m back with another challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More and the theme this week is “Anything Goes”! Its always a popular theme so I’m sure I’ll see many of you in the link up!

May 9 stamplorations main

I had alot of fun making this card for 2 reasons. The first being that I LOVE the digital stamp from Stamplorations, and second because we were asked to show our colouring skills for an application to be a guest designer on their blog for a few months. If you haven’t noticed by now,  I love colouring, especially with watercolours, so I decided to whip out my Brushos for the background using the “Stained Glass” stencil also from Stamplorations, and my Zig clean clear real brushes to watercolour the flowers and cup. I  then fussy cut the digi image and propped it on foam tape.

Well I hope you liked my card, (I got one of the GD position by the way, so I’m over the moon..) and that you’ll pop over to the Addicted to Stamps and More Blog to admire my team mates beautiful creations and leave them some love too!

Have a Great Day!

The Sisterhood of Crafters – Birds

Card Challenge, Cards, The Sisterhood of Crafters

Hi all! I’m back for my 2nd post of the day to tell you its time for another challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters and our team leader Darlene has chosen the theme “Birds” for you! So come and join in the fun with any creation that has birds on it!

Feathered bird

I ordered a bunch of different coloured feathers recently and I wanted to make another card with it. This was going to a friend to thank her for her dinner invitation. I always feel that I have to make a 3D card for non card makers who don’t realise the work and technique that goes into making a card unless it pops!

So to make this card, I first created the wall background by spreading some white paste through a stencil from My Favorite Things on Clairfontaine 250g multi-technique paper. While it was drying I sprinkled some Brushos paint powder and a little water on it, so the powders would dissolve but not too much that the paste would loose its form. I left it aside to dry and started colouring my bird from a Katzelkraft stamp set with my newly acquired Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. As you can tell I’m just a beginner at colouring with alcohol markers!

Feathered bird cu

I cut my stamped and coloured bird with the Brother Scan and Cut, and luckily today it decided to co-operate and scan my images! I adhered the bird on my dried stencilled background and added the feathers with Scrap Perfect “Best Glue Ever” transparent glue. The “Thanks” sentiment comes from Technique Tuesday and was stamped with Versafine on a MFT scallop diecut.

Well, I hope you enjoyed today’s 2nd post too and that you’ll pop over to The Sisterhood of Crafters blog and leave my Sistahs some love too! Thanks for stopping by and do let me know what you thought of my card.

Creative with Stamps – Reminder Reindeer challenge

Cards, Creative With Stamps, Shimmerz Paints, Stamplorations, Stencil

Hi all. I’m back today to remind you about our on-going challenge at Creative with Stamps and the theme is Reindeer. So create any Reindeer themed card, and as long as there is stamping somewhere on it, you’re welcome to link it up here, and you might be the lucky winner of 3 digi stamps generously offered by our sponsor this month, Pattie’s Creations.

Pattie's Creations

For today’s post, I’m still having fun with my new sprays and pastes I purchased from Shimmerz Paints last week, to colour through my different stencils.

Stamplorations Reindeer cu

I first coloured a piece of 250g multi technique paper from Clairfontaine with my Brusho paint powders and spritzes of water. Once it was dry, I spread the incredibly sleek paste called Dazzlerz “Foiled Again”, through the star stencil from Newton’s Nook and let it dry. I didn’t tape the stencil down well enough so a little paste spread underneath the stencil, sorry! I might actually spray some glue on the underside of my stencils and let it dry overnight, so that they stay put all over…

Once the stars were dry, I just spread some Texturez gold paste through my Stamplorations reindeer stencil and created the bumpy effect by lifting my spatula when I was spreading the paste. The thickness of this paste covered whatever was originally there, meaning the stars and painted background!

Stamplorations Reindeer side

To create my scallop border, I diecut a silver card stock with MFT scallop rectangle die and adhered a piece of acetate underneath it. I then stamped my sentiment from Penny Black with Stazon ink onto the acetate… I’m not sure how I got the smaller texts crooked when the main text is straight… I then adhered this acetate panel onto my stencilled panel and pasted the whole thing onto a card base.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this post and I would love to hear what you think about my card! Do hop over to the other DTs at Creative with Stamp and leave them some love too!
