100 day watercolor challenge

Cards, Watercolor

I’ve started a Skillshare challenge which is to paint something every day for 100 days. The paintings don’t take not more than 5 minutes and the style is one I’m not very good at, which is whimsical. So hopefully by the end of the 100 days, I will be more comfortable with it! This gallery will grow each day so I hope you will enjoy coming back to see my latest additions!

Let me Out!

Cards, Happy Little Stampers, spectrum noir aqua markers, Watercolor

april 2020 WCHi all! Its the 1st of April…wow, where did March go?! Well, its time for another watercolour challenge over at the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog and the theme for this month is “Stars”. I created this card for all of you stuck indoors and looking out. Don’t look at the empty streets, but at the beautiful sky, which in some countries, are clearer now than ever before…Stars prodI just received this stamp set from Crafters Companion called Peek-a-boo Cat and when I saw that the theme for this challenge was “Stars”, I knew I wanted to make a card with him looking through the window up into the sky. I watercoloured the sky with Spectrum Noir Aqua markers Prussian Blue, Hot Pink and Black. I made a little tutorial and you can see it at the bottom of this post.Stars cuTo be honest, while I was making this card, the only sentiment I wanted to put on the card was “LET ME OUT!” We’ve been in lockdown in Germany for 2 weeks now. Luckily, or not, for the kids, they still have school online with virtual classes and homework to hand in, so the “I’m bored, mum” has been minimal. Unfortunately for me, I now have more cooking to do & chasing after them to make sure that they are actually studying and not cutting classes, along with my online classes I am taking and giving. StarsBut for the moment, except for eating out, I’m not really missing not going out. I have countless online meetings for work and with friends, that I don’t feel I’m missing the social aspect of things.  So in the end, I decided on “Thinking of You”, as this was more relevant to how I was really feeling. Thinking of friends who are cooped up alone at home, away from their family and friends. Don’t stay isolated! Reach out virtually through Facetime, Hangouts, Houseparty, Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp videos, Facebook, … the technology to do so is endless today!

And speaking of which, as promised, here is my process video of how I made this card. I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to hop on over to the blog to join in the fun and stop by teammies blogs to see what they made just to inspire you too.

Have a great day doing something you love, and remember… this too will pass.

This month, we want to see some bling on your creations but you’re more than welcome to play with just your watercolours. You have until the end of the month to share your creations with us and I look forward to seeing them in the link-up here.Embossed Sparkle inks prod wmAs its the month of LOVE, I wanted to make a Valentine’s day card for a dear friend who’s newly single, to remind her that she is loved. I love all the friendship sentiments that come in this stamp set by Crafters Companion and I wanted it to take centre stage. So I embossed it with 2 different colour powders from Wow embossing powder and then framed it with some sparkling watercolours from Spectrum Noir and the Contemporary Lace embossing folder from Crafters Companion. I wish you could see the sparkle on my card!Products Here’s a little video showing you the sparkle on my card! Isn’t it awesome?

Wishing you another Fabulous year!

Cards, Happy Little Stampers, Watercolor

January 2020 WC.pngHappy New Year everyone! Its the start of another year, another decade, another chance to do all the things you want to do in life! So what are you going to do this year?

I personally want to do more crafting & painting this year. Last year saw a temporary pause when I started a new job/vocation in June. But now that I’ve settled into my teaching role, I feel ready to get back into crafting again and what better way than to start with a new watercolour challenge over at “Happy Little Stampers“!Jan cu.jpgAs usual, its an “Anything Goes” challenge with an optional twist of adding die cuts. I used my Sizzix Floral panel which is my go-to when I’m rushing to make a card, as I had loads of family and friends staying till the 30th so I didn’t have a lot of spare time. I use the die to cut out a piece from one of many watercolour “practice” pieces, (as in attempts to create a beautiful piece that failed). Nevertheless, they do make great scraps for my die cuts, don’t you think?

The sentiment comes from Altenew and with it, I wish you all Another FAB year of being totally AWESOME!

Looking forward to seeing your wonderful creations in the link-up here. Thanks for stopping by and have a great start to 2020 doing something you love!

Watercolouring with inkpads

Addicted to Stamps and More, Altenew, Cards, Spectrum noir, Watercolor

addicted to stamps n more anything goesHi all! Its Wednesday so another challenge starts over at Addicted to Stamps and More and the theme for this month is a favourite of most, “Anything Goes”! I look forward to seeing what you create for this theme.Watercolor with inkpads wmI did a little water colouring with my Harmony water-reactive ink pads from Spectrum Noir on Altenew’s beautiful stamp. The circle diecut behind the flower is an oldie but goodie diecut from Memory Box and I added a piece of card stock behind it to give it some interest.20191019_121813.jpgTo watercolour my image, I first stamped the ink pad onto an acrylic block and picked up the ink from there with my water brush. I then diecut the images and arranged them onto my card base.Altenew stampWell, I hope you’ll be inspired to play along with us at Addicted to Stamps and More and thank you for stopping by. I hope you’ll pop over to my teammates’ blogs to visit their wonderful creations too!

Have a wonderful day doing something you love!
