Just Stamping around

Cards, stamping, Versa Magic ink

I just realised that I don’t do much simple stamping on my cards. Meaning I mainly colour my stamps with colour pencils, watercolours, marker pens, alcohol inks… so today I decided to make a card just by stamping inks onto it!

versamagic hero arts flamingo

I used Tsukineko’s Versa Magic dew drop inks to stamp my black card as these pigment inks show so well on dark card stock. They give a beautiful chalky finish to my Hero Art stamps. As I only have 4 of their colours (for the moment), to create more nuances on afew of my petals, using my Misti, I first stamped my flower with Pixie Dust (don’t you love the name of this pink ink!), then stamped a darker pink, Momento’s Rose Bud over it.

I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts with Versamark transparent ink and heat embossed it with Wow embossing powder. To finish, I added pearl dots with my pearl pens, let it dry and then carded it onto a lilac card base.

Well I hope you liked my simple stamped card and your comments really make my day! Thanks for stopping by.

Galaxy background card 1

Cards, Die cuts, stamping, Watercolor

Today will be the first in my series of ways to use water coloured Galaxy backgrounds on my card. The reason why I’m doing this is because I practised painting galaxies last month with my new Winsor & Newton paints and they were so sad just lying around feeling neglected and lifeless… (Get it? Lifeless…Galaxies… oh well I tried. 😁)

This card was inspired by the Silhouette challenges over at the CAS Watercolour card & Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenges. Its been awhile that I’ve made a CAS card and it was good to go back to clean and simple… although there was nothing simple in painting the galaxy… LoL! It was very quick to make, which was good, as it was for a birthday for my daughter’s classmate and she only told me a few hours before!

The silhouette die cut was made with a die from Dixicraft, a made in China die, but I couldn’t find any silhouette dies made in Europe or US so if you know any, please let me know! The sentiment comes from Stempendous and its my first sentiment stamp I ever bought, which was 2 years ago but it must be older than that I guess cause its getting harder to stamp with it, and I use it a lot too!

Well just a short post today, but I hope you liked my card. I really do love it when you stop by and leave a comment so THANKS from the bottom of my heart!

Auf Wiedersehen

Altenew, Cards, stamping

Today was the last day of school for the kids and they had an assembly to say goodbye to teachers and friends who are leaving. This year it was harder for my daughter as she had to say goodbye to her Israeli and Danish friends, friends she has known and loved for the last 4 years and a year respectively. Just as we make friends and get closer to people much faster here as we know we are not here for long, so do the kids, and so farewells are that much harder for them. But today, not only did the kids shed tears for their friends, so did we, as their friends were like our children too. We were all their parents, taking each others kids home or picking them up from activities when one of us could not. Countless sleepovers, birthday parties, vacations… spent together.

Altenew hennah

I made this card for my dear Israeli friends. Dalit is especially close to my heart as we both discovered a passion for crafting here in Germany and we visited many craft fairs together, sometimes driving to a fair in Frankfurt (300km away) just for a day! She introduced me to blogging, with her own successful blog My Piece of Craft and taught me how to network on Facebook and Instagram. I will always be grateful to you for that Dalit and for the friendship we shared in Ulm, and will continue to share over the kilometres.

This card was made with Altenew’s Hennah Elements which I had fun stamping  with Versafine black ink all over the card, but then left it on the side as I didn’t really know what to do with it.

And one day I saw a similar layout somewhere and the inspiration photo from The Card Concept and I knew what I wanted to do! I “tore” a corner of the card and adhered it on this card, coloured just one flower with my Zigs, stamped the beautiful sentiment from Stampendous with red Versafine ink, and the card was done!

To Sir with Love

Cards, stamping, Watercolor

“The time has come, for closing books and long last looks must end.. how do you thank someone who has taken you from crayons to perfume…” Who remembers that movie and that amazing song! I’m listening to it now and it still does something to me…

Yes its the last week of school and as an International school, there are always teachers and students leaving to other schools in other countries. So its time to make farewell cards for teachers and friends. Today I’m going to show two cards I made for teachers.

micenblooms main

The first one is for a friend’s grade 3 teacher so I tried to make a cute critter card. I think this must only be the 2nd time I’ve made one of those in my short life as a card maker as I don’t think I have a single cute bone in my body! I love when others do it though so I’m giving myself a new challenge to learn how to make cute cards!

I used a light card from Hero Arts and first created the sky with Distress inks and sprayed some water on on it to create the clouds.  I then tried to colour in the sun but obviously I should have done it before I coloured the sky…next time…, so I had to die cut a scallop to cover up my mistake! 🙂

micenblooms cu

I used the mice stamp from Penny Black’s “Hugs” set and stamped it in 3 different colours with Versafine inks and coloured it in with my Zigs. I finished by stamping the sentiment from Hero Arts “Thank You messages” also with Versafine.

macarons merci

My next card is another first time card, as I’ve never made a “food” card before. I actually think these Macaron stamps from Avery Elle, are the only food stamps I have! For a foodie like me, its quite shocking! 😉 This was a relatively easy and fun card to make. I stamped the macarons with Altenew inks, then coloured in the filling with my Zigs, adding Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen in the middle to make it look more delicious! I fussy cut the orange macaron and stuck it on the top. I then stamped the border stamp, which was a very old yet NBUS!

macarons merci cu

Don’t they look yummy? I was craving for macarons after I made the card! The sentiment which was stamped in Versafine ink also comes from the same stamp set.

This card is going to my kids’ French teacher and i hope she’ll like it. Did YOU like my cards? Let me know if I should continue with cute cards. Thanks for stopping by!

With this ring I thee wed…

Altenew, Brushos paint powder, Cards, Die cuts, Heat embossing, stamping, Stencil, The Ton stamps, Watercolor, WoW embossing powder

I attended a friend’s wedding this weekend and it is so nice to have 1.Young enough friends & 2. Friends who still believe in marriage! ( I guess those 2 go together…). During the marriage we were asked to write notes they would read 1 year later and I was struggling to try and write some words of wisdom that would help them have a better marriage. Most of what I could think of would have been advice too late; like “if you love his faults too then he’s the one for you…” or “marry your best friend…”. General advice like “Don’t go to bed angry” didn’t seem genuine as I’ve gone to bed angry a hundred times and got up feeling none the worse. 😉 Or, “If he loves you, everything else can be forgiven… like, are you kidding! So in the end I just wished them a marriage full of love, laughter… and lots of patience!! 🙂

the ton blue & lavendar

I made 2 cards for them, one from me and one for a friend who was invited to the same wedding. The one above was done in colours she loves and I had a lot of pleasure colouring those beautiful The Ton stamps again with my Zigs. I first stamped them in Versamark and heat embossed the Wow embossing powders I sprinkled on top. The sentiment comes from Justrite “Wedding wishes vintage” collection.

I die cut the centre with a Spellbinders die and layered it so it stood out.

The next card was made by first adding a pearl embossing paste through the Altenew “Halftone stencil” and letting it dry. I then created the coloured background by sprinkling my Brusho paint powders on the card and spritzing it with water

SJ card

I then used a heart die from XCut to cut out the beautiful heart, adhered it on the card and then added the die cut poenies from Altenew, which I had first stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Wow embossing powder.

I didn’t really have a suitable wedding sentiment to add on the top so I hand write “Together forever” with a gold pen.

This is the first time I stamped on Vellum and I must say I love the results!
