Hi all! Its the 1st of February in Aussieland and so another challenge starts at Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge. This month, we want to see some bling on your creations but you’re more than welcome to play with just your watercolours. You have until the end of the month to share your creations with us and I look forward to seeing them in the link-up here.As its the month of LOVE, I wanted to make a Valentine’s day card for a dear friend who’s newly single, to remind her that she is loved. I love all the friendship sentiments that come in this stamp set by Crafters Companion and I wanted it to take centre stage. So I embossed it with 2 different colour powders from Wow embossing powder and then framed it with some sparkling watercolours from Spectrum Noir and the Contemporary Lace embossing folder from Crafters Companion. I wish you could see the sparkle on my card! Here’s a little video showing you the sparkle on my card! Isn’t it awesome?
Anyway, I hope you’ve been inspired to create a card for our challenge and I can’t wait to see what you’ve done! Do stop over at my teammies blogs to leave them some love too. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day doing something you love!

Hi all, I’m here today to share two cards I made using trending colour combinations of 2020. This will be a series I hope to continue throughout 2020, so if you don’t want to miss out, do subscribe to my blog! For these two cards, I used the Spring Garden embossing folder and sentiment stamps and dies from Crafters Companion and ink pads by Spectrum Noir. If you would like to see a step by step tutorial on how I made these cards, please go on to the Spectrum Noir Facebook community photo album page here.
To get these colour combinations on my cards, I was sooo inspired by this article from Canva called “10 trending Color combination of 2020”. I love all the colours which are supposed to be trending this year (that teal!!!) so I pinned this article onto my bookmarks bar and I will be referring to it quite often when I make my cards!
Well I hope you liked my cards, what do you think of the colours? Which is your favourite card?
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day doing something you love!

Hi all! Its nice to get back into crafting more regularly again and even though it took a while for me to find my creative mojo, it’s back and I intend to cultivate it again. I know that the more I do, the more the ideas come so I’m not worried. Its more difficult for me to organise myself between my new job and crafting! After 5 years of not working with people, as in face to face and not through blog land or social media, I was seriously missing the business chitchat! But what could I do in Germany, when I didn’t speak the language very well? Well, teach English as a foreign language of course, like most foreigners in my position do… To be honest, I used to look at this job as a last resort kind of thing, and not really a real profession. I do have loads of respect for teachers in schools and institutions, of course, they chose to do this and were trained to do it. But just teaching a language cause you’re a native speaker, didn’t seem very professional to me. Now that I’ve done it though, even if it’s only been 2 months, I feel the weight of the responsibility! People are paying me to get better at something and I can’t just “wing it” through each lesson.
Luckily my 25 years in business communication has prepared me to train professionals in Business English and I love preparing for my classes, interacting with my clients, and even after a tiring non-stop 6h teaching day, I don’t want to stop after my last lesson of the day. And I must be doing something well, cause the offers are pouring in… So maybe I’ve found another new passion in my life, together with crafting and painting!Speaking of which, I made this card using the smooshing technique, which is to put down some water-reactive inks, like my Spectrum Noir Harmony die inks, on an acrylic block, spritz it with water and just slide my card stock over it. I also brushed over some light blue watercolour with my Aquatint marker. The only difficulty in this method is to know which colours to choose from! The diecut comes from Pink Fresh Studio and as it is such a delicate diecut, I brushed over Art Potch (like Mod Podge?) directly on the diecut on my smooshed background. It gives a shiny finish, which is not very noticeable, but you might want to brush over the whole card if you’re a little fussy.
Well thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend doing something you love! I know I’ll be doing a weekend of marathon crafting to prepare for a HUGE event in September. It’ll be Spectacular!
Hi all! Its Wednesday so another challenge starts at Addicted to Stamps and More and this week’s challenge theme is “CAS” – Clean and Simple. So lots of empty spaces on your card and not too many layers! I know its not simple for most, me included, so I hope my attempt will inspire you to create a card for our challenge! This card was created using the beautiful background rose stamp from The Ton and coloured with the amazing new pigment inks from Spectrum Noir called Harmony Opaque inks and some heat embossing using clear Wow embossing powders. If you’re interested in the method I used to make this card, come back to my blog on the 12th of September, for a very special event that Spectrum Noir is hosting! There will be loads in store for those joining in this event, so stay tuned! In the meantime, I do hope you’ll join in our Clean and Simple challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More. I look forward to seeing your cards in the link up!
Thanks for dropping by and have a great day!
