Hi all, its the first of May (Happy May Day!) and so another watercolour challenge starts over at the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog and as usual its an “Anything Goes” challenge but with an optional theme of “Emboss”.I decided to do a card with the gorgeous 3d embossing folder “Peony Corner” by Crafters Companion, but first colouring the inside of the embossing folder using the Aqua markers from Spectrum Noir. I then sprayed it lightly with some water and ran the embossing folder, with my card in it, through my new electric Gemini machine. This embossing folder is truly gorgeous ad gives an amazing raised effect on the card. I splattered some paint some the card and then stamped the sentiment, from So Suzy stamps, using the black waterproof resistant ink from Spectrum Noir too. This card didn’t take me more than 10 minutes to make, but yet gives a beautiful effect, don’t you think?
Well I hope you liked my card and that it has inspired you to join in our watercolour challenge. I look forward to seeing your wonderful creations in the link-up here. Please hop over to my fellow teammates’ blogs to give them some love too.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day, doing something you love!
Hi all! Its the 1st of April…wow, where did March go?! Well, its time for another watercolour challenge over at the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog and the theme for this month is “Stars”. I created this card for all of you stuck indoors and looking out. Don’t look at the empty streets, but at the beautiful sky, which in some countries, are clearer now than ever before…I just received this stamp set from Crafters Companion called Peek-a-boo Cat and when I saw that the theme for this challenge was “Stars”, I knew I wanted to make a card with him looking through the window up into the sky. I watercoloured the sky with Spectrum Noir Aqua markers Prussian Blue, Hot Pink and Black. I made a little tutorial and you can see it at the bottom of this post.To be honest, while I was making this card, the only sentiment I wanted to put on the card was “LET ME OUT!” We’ve been in lockdown in Germany for 2 weeks now. Luckily, or not, for the kids, they still have school online with virtual classes and homework to hand in, so the “I’m bored, mum” has been minimal. Unfortunately for me, I now have more cooking to do & chasing after them to make sure that they are actually studying and not cutting classes, along with my online classes I am taking and giving. But for the moment, except for eating out, I’m not really missing not going out. I have countless online meetings for work and with friends, that I don’t feel I’m missing the social aspect of things. So in the end, I decided on “Thinking of You”, as this was more relevant to how I was really feeling. Thinking of friends who are cooped up alone at home, away from their family and friends. Don’t stay isolated! Reach out virtually through Facetime, Hangouts, Houseparty, Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp videos, Facebook, … the technology to do so is endless today!
And speaking of which, as promised, here is my process video of how I made this card. I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to hop on over to the blog to join in the fun and stop by teammies blogs to see what they made just to inspire you too.
Have a great day doing something you love, and remember… this too will pass.
Hi all, Its already the first of March (in Australia) so another challenge starts over at the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog and this month’s optional theme, Flowers, will be a favourite of many. I know it’s my favourite! You have until the end of the month to join in and I really look forward to seeing your amazing creations! This month I made a very simple card using only one colour. Unfortunately its a sympathy card for the worst type of tragedy, the death of a child. I wanted to convey all my sadness in my image, even though I know it is nothing compared to what the mother must be feeling. I made a video showing how I coloured this stamp which you can find below, but in summary, I first added the Spectrum Noir black water-reactive ink to the stamp, spritzed the stamp with water and stamped it onto my watercolour pad which also comes from Spectrum Noir. Then with my wet paintbrush, I just moved the ink around. When I needed to darken certain areas, I did it with my watercolour marker, also from Spectrum Noir.
As promised the video of how I painted this flower stamp. Hope you enjoy it and that it’ll inspire you to join our watercolour challenge over at Happy Little Stampers.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day doing something you love.
Hi all! Its the 1st of February in Aussieland and so another challenge starts at Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge. This month, we want to see some bling on your creations but you’re more than welcome to play with just your watercolours. You have until the end of the month to share your creations with us and I look forward to seeing them in the link-up here.As its the month of LOVE, I wanted to make a Valentine’s day card for a dear friend who’s newly single, to remind her that she is loved. I love all the friendship sentiments that come in this stamp set by Crafters Companion and I wanted it to take centre stage. So I embossed it with 2 different colour powders from Wow embossing powder and then framed it with some sparkling watercolours from Spectrum Noir and the Contemporary Lace embossing folder from Crafters Companion. I wish you could see the sparkle on my card! Here’s a little video showing you the sparkle on my card! Isn’t it awesome?
Anyway, I hope you’ve been inspired to create a card for our challenge and I can’t wait to see what you’ve done! Do stop over at my teammies blogs to leave them some love too. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day doing something you love!

Happy New Year everyone! Its the start of another year, another decade, another chance to do all the things you want to do in life! So what are you going to do this year?
I personally want to do more crafting & painting this year. Last year saw a temporary pause when I started a new job/vocation in June. But now that I’ve settled into my teaching role, I feel ready to get back into crafting again and what better way than to start with a new watercolour challenge over at “Happy Little Stampers“!As usual, its an “Anything Goes” challenge with an optional twist of adding die cuts. I used my Sizzix Floral panel which is my go-to when I’m rushing to make a card, as I had loads of family and friends staying till the 30th so I didn’t have a lot of spare time. I use the die to cut out a piece from one of many watercolour “practice” pieces, (as in attempts to create a beautiful piece that failed). Nevertheless, they do make great scraps for my die cuts, don’t you think?
The sentiment comes from Altenew and with it, I wish you all Another FAB year of being totally AWESOME!
Looking forward to seeing your wonderful creations in the link-up here. Thanks for stopping by and have a great start to 2020 doing something you love!
