Cards, Colour pencils, Stamplorations, Stencil

This card was made to order to thank a very generous parent couple who have been providing free drinks to all our PTA events in school. It was hard for me to come up with a fairly neutral card which would be nice but not too feminine or masculine. And as they own a local supermarket in town, I wanted to impress them too, so I had to make a card that would be more “commercial” than artistic but I hope I managed to do both with this card.

stamplorations double stencil.jpg

I was inspired by the challenge at CAS Mix Up Card challenge which was requiring to use two stencils, stamping and another technique while keeping it clean and simple! So I first brushed in some distress oxide inks, with my smallest stencil brush, through the beautiful Peony Number 1 stencil from Stamplorations. To add some interest, I coloured in some detail with my Prismacolor pencils.  This is the first time I’m using this stencil and I’m in love with it as peonies are my FAVOURITE flowers, so I can’t wait to play around with it more!

I then laid the butterfly stencil from Efco on top of my Peony and added gold embossing paste through it. Once it was thoroughly dry, I stamped in the German “Thank You” stamp from Efco, added my panel onto a blue card base and the card was done! (The little dot on the flower is a gold one but unfortunately it looks like a black spot!)

I hope they will like it and I hope you liked it too! Thanks for stopping by and I really love reading your comments.0aablog-signature2-1

the flower challenge The Flower Challenge – Its their 1st birthday celebration and the theme is “Use your favourite flower”, so I used a peony of course as I LOVE them! They are having so many prizes this month and all of them so amazing. But if Random org chooses me, I would pick the prize from Power Poppy as I don’t have any of their products yet.

Creative with Stamps Challenge – Shoes

Cards, Colour pencils, Creative With Stamps, Watercolor, Zig clean color real brush

creativewithstamps

Hi all, its a new month and a new challenge over at Creative with Stamps! This month’s theme is “Shoes” and it was a difficult one for me as I don’t really like shoes. WHAT! Don’t like shoes??? I can hear all you ladies out there yelling in shock and disbelief! Well to be more precise, because of a back problem and arthritis in my knees due to a ski injury, I can no longer wear heels or any shoes that are not 200% comfortable. So only sneakers and certain low heeled shoes are possible for me 😭 . So I don’t own any shoe or shoe related stamps either as its too painful for me to look at beautiful shoes knowing I can’t wear them!

So I did something I never do, I looked for digis, and came upon a site called Buzzle, which has free printable colouring pages. When I saw this beautiful flower shoe, I fell in love with it, printed it and started colouring it immediately with my Prismacolor pencils and Zig clean color real brushes. I then fussy cut it and adhered it to a light blue Hero Arts card base and proceeded to stamp the little flowers from Pink Fresh Studio Unicorn Dreams stamp set with VersaMagic pigment chalk ink.

Isn’t the Flower Shoe gorgeous? I stamped the sentiment, Beautiful, which comes from Altenew Perennial Beauty stamp set, with Versamark and heat embossed it with Wow’s blue embossing power. You can’t see it in the pic but it really shines!

Well I hope you’ll go over to the Creative with Stamp challenge blog and leave my fellow DTs some love too, and join in the fun! Thanks for stopping by and I love reading your comments.

Stamping with a die cut + video

Altenew, Cards, Colour pencils, Die cuts

I wanted to enter the Altenew challenge with a large flower stamp outline that I could colour in, but realised I didn’t have any. Then I looked at my new Altenew layered floral cover die A and thought, hmmm… maybe I can stamp with it! So I tried it… and loved the result!

altenew die cut stamping.jpg

Can you see which is the stamped image? Yes, its the blue outlined flower on the top left corner of the card. I made a video of how I did it, which can be found lower down in my post, so I hope you’ll have a look.

The flowers were coloured in using my Prismacolor pencils, which work so well on a coloured card base.

The sentiment comes from Altenew’s Perennial Beauty stamp set and was stamped using my MISTI and Versafine black ink, then heat embossed.

Cards, Colour pencils, Heat embossing, Stamplorations, WoW embossing powder

While I was away, my kind neighbours looked after some Roses I recently bought when I was at a recent Rose fair here in Ulm, so I made a card with a rose on it to thank them for taking care of them so well.

Thats the Ulmer Munster in the background, the cathedral which has the tallest steeple in the world! The yellow and pink rose in the photo gave me the inspiration to colour my roses for this card.

Stamplorations rose on red

The beautiful stamped rose comes from Stamploration’s “About a Rose” set, and its surprisingly the first time I’ve used it! As I was inspired by the challenges at AAA Cards and Less Is More to create a one layer card on a coloured card base, I wanted everything I stamped on it to stand out. So I first stamped the rose with Versamark clear ink, sprinkled Wow embossing powder over it and then melted it with my heat gun. I coloured in the rose with my Prisamacolor pencils as I knew they work well on the dark base. You have to use a sharp pencil though to really get in right beside the embossed areas but as my eyesight isn’t that good, I still missed some areas! Lol! But don’t those colour pencils just pop?!

Stamplorations rose on red side.jpg

To get the ombre look for the sentiment from Efco, which means “Thank you very much”, I stamped it in Versamark too, then first poured the white Wow Embossing powder on the bottom half, heated it, then poured the gold embossing powder over the top half. To make it pop even more, I added Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush over the rose. See how it shines in the light!

I added a few clear sequins to it and the card was finished. I do hope you liked it and I would love to hear what you think of my card!

Thanks for stopping by and Have a Great Weekend!

Colouring with Zigs & Prismacolor

Cards, Colour pencils, Heat embossing, stamping, Watercolor

I made these 2 cards late one night when inspiration hit me just before I was going to bed. I get most of my inspirations at night so I end up sleeping too late and then I’m tired the whole day and lose my mojo… Why can’t I wake up in the mornings and cry “Eureka! I have the perfect idea for a perfect design!” and then I’ll have the whole day to do it.

watercolor heart zigs

This first one was with my Zig watercolor brushes. I die cut a heart using a Xcut die, to use as a mask and stamped the sentiment from Penny Black’s Hug set, first with Versamark before adding Wow embossing powder on it, to create a resist when I started colouring with my Zig clean color real brushes.

I love how the Zigs create such luminous colours!

My next card is completely different as you can see, but it didn’t take very long for me to make it either and I really enjoyed colouring with my Prisma color pencils. The colour doesn’t get absorbed by dark coloured paper and really stands out against the black card don’t you think?

silver embossed flowers

I used Penny Black Delicate Florals stamps for this which I stamped in Versamark and then added silver Wow embossing powder before heating it with my heat gun.  I then went in with my color pencils and just coloured the edges of the flowers.

silver embossed flowers day

To create some extra sparkle, I went over all the flowers with my  Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush and I love how they shine! I stamped the sentiment from Stamplorations also with Versamark and then heat embossed using Wow embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed looking at my cards. Leave me a comment to let me know what you think!
