Hi all! I’m back for my 2nd post of the day to tell you its time for another challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters and our team leader Darlene has chosen the theme “Birds” for you! So come and join in the fun with any creation that has birds on it!
I ordered a bunch of different coloured feathers recently and I wanted to make another card with it. This was going to a friend to thank her for her dinner invitation. I always feel that I have to make a 3D card for non card makers who don’t realise the work and technique that goes into making a card unless it pops!
So to make this card, I first created the wall background by spreading some white paste through a stencil from My Favorite Things on Clairfontaine 250g multi-technique paper. While it was drying I sprinkled some Brushos paint powder and a little water on it, so the powders would dissolve but not too much that the paste would loose its form. I left it aside to dry and started colouring my bird from a Katzelkraft stamp set with my newly acquired Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. As you can tell I’m just a beginner at colouring with alcohol markers!
I cut my stamped and coloured bird with the Brother Scan and Cut, and luckily today it decided to co-operate and scan my images! I adhered the bird on my dried stencilled background and added the feathers with Scrap Perfect “Best Glue Ever” transparent glue. The “Thanks” sentiment comes from Technique Tuesday and was stamped with Versafine on a MFT scallop diecut.
Well, I hope you enjoyed today’s 2nd post too and that you’ll pop over to The Sisterhood of Crafters blog and leave my Sistahs some love too! Thanks for stopping by and do let me know what you thought of my card.
