Quite a few things inspired me to make this beautiful card using distress inks, a stencil and clear embossing paste. The first was Gayatri’s gorgeous card she made as DT for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge. I loved the effect so much I had to try it myself. The second were the beautiful colours in the inspiration post at Addicted to Stamps and More challenge blog.
This was a very simple card to make and I made a video tutorial of it which you can find at the end of my post. Apart from the drying time, I must have taken only 30 minutes to make it! I started by sponging distress inks through my stencil from Stamplorations called Swirly Bloom and then added a thick layer of clear Kristall acrylic paste over it. Once it dried completely (overnight), I cut it down to the size I wanted and adhered it to my card bases.
I decided to add my sentiment from Hero Arts, onto vellum, as I did not want to hide the beautiful embossed background. A few gems and my card was finished!
Here is the video tutorial I made and if you like the video please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my new channel if you haven’t done so already.
Thanks for stopping by, and your comments always make my day!
I’m also playing along at:
The Flower Challenge – where the focus is on background stamping… and writing this I just realised stamping was required in the background… sigh, I’ll share it anyway!
