While I was away, my kind neighbours looked after some Roses I recently bought when I was at a recent Rose fair here in Ulm, so I made a card with a rose on it to thank them for taking care of them so well.
Thats the Ulmer Munster in the background, the cathedral which has the tallest steeple in the world! The yellow and pink rose in the photo gave me the inspiration to colour my roses for this card.
The beautiful stamped rose comes from Stamploration’s “About a Rose” set, and its surprisingly the first time I’ve used it! As I was inspired by the challenges at AAA Cards and Less Is More to create a one layer card on a coloured card base, I wanted everything I stamped on it to stand out. So I first stamped the rose with Versamark clear ink, sprinkled Wow embossing powder over it and then melted it with my heat gun. I coloured in the rose with my Prisamacolor pencils as I knew they work well on the dark base. You have to use a sharp pencil though to really get in right beside the embossed areas but as my eyesight isn’t that good, I still missed some areas! Lol! But don’t those colour pencils just pop?!
To get the ombre look for the sentiment from Efco, which means “Thank you very much”, I stamped it in Versamark too, then first poured the white Wow Embossing powder on the bottom half, heated it, then poured the gold embossing powder over the top half. To make it pop even more, I added Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush over the rose. See how it shines in the light!
I added a few clear sequins to it and the card was finished. I do hope you liked it and I would love to hear what you think of my card!
Thanks for stopping by and Have a Great Weekend!
